Bilaskhani Todi

I have gotten into this weird habit of listening to Bilaskhani Todi at any time of day!

Main culprit : Niladri Kumar's Dharohar album and 'Koyaliya Kahe Karat Pukaar' by Ajay Pohankar. It started with Prabhakar Karekar's concert in Akashwani Sangeet Sammelan (in Dec. 97, I guess). Veena Sahsrabuddhe's todi is awsome ('Suno more saiyaan'- record by Faountain i.e. Alurkar music house ).

This raaga belongs to Bhairavi thaat. That's why sounds somewhat similar to Bhairavi. Another raga from the same family: Komal Rishabh Asawari (I am not sure if I like this name more or the raaga).

Jitendra Abhisheki's clip on this site ('tyaj re abhimaan jaan guniyan ko') is marvelous.
